As part of Swachhata HI Seva week 2018, the Fine Arts club organised an Intercollege Painting Competition on 27.09.2018 (Wednesday) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Lecture hall 4, MGMCRI.

A total of more than 100 participants from MGMCRI and other colleges like Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences (IGIDS), Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering and Technology (RGCET), Kasturba Gandhi College of Nursing (KGNC) and Sabari college of Nursing participated in the event.

Only chart papers and drinking water was provided by us as informed earlier. The topic was given on the spot – “CLEAN AND GREEN INDIA” and the participants were given free choice of painting materials and one and a half hour time limit.

Judging was based on perfection, creativity, completion, relevance to the topic and the overall impact of the painting.

Two judges who have expertise in painting were invited – 1) Dr Rajkumar Patil, A.P., Dept. of Community Medicine and 2) Dr Jenith Berlin Raj, A.P., Dept. of Physiology.

On the basis of scoring by the two judges, 3 winners were chosen :

1st: Shivalika bhargavi, MGMCRI

2nd: Roopashree.S, MGMCRI

3rd: Moumita Basak, MGMCRI

All the participants were given Participation Certificates and the winners were given trophy and certificate in the Swachh Bharat program presided by Prof.S.C.PARIJA, VICE CHANCELLOR, SBV UNIVERSITY, Prof.N.ANANTHAKRISHNAN, Dean – Research and Allied Health Sciences, MGMCRI, Prof.M.RAVISHANKAR, DEAN, MGMCRI, Prof.PARTHA NANDI – VICE PRINCIPAL STUDENTS, MGMC&RI and other dignitaries, that was conducted at 4 pm on the same day in Lecture hall 1, MGMCRI. All the participants were given Certificate of Participation. The overall event was coordinated by the fine arts club.

The paintings of the three winners were displayed in the Ground floor notice board after the completion of the event.
